KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 16.75 g, 3 h), a contemporary imitation, copying Myriandros or Issos, after circa 330-325. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. ΒEΛI... - [Α]ΛΕΞΛИ[ΔΡΟΥ] Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and, in his right, eagle standing right with closed wings; to left, scorpion. Cf. Price 3218 (for prototype). Nicely toned. Deposits, scratches and a test cut, otherwise, very fine.
